Fourth Class Launches on October 28, 2011
Over 400 participants, partners, donors, and business and nonprofit leaders networked at a breakfast reception and enjoyed a welcome program on closing the workforce skills gap. The new class met with program partners and their classroom training providers. At the launch event, Chicago Career Tech recognized Heather Carper with the Outstanding Participant Award and Children’s Home + Aid Eric Brenner with the Outstanding Supervisor Award from Group 3. A new award recognizing the Outstanding Instructor from Group 3 was created and awarded to Val Scarlata from Illinois Institute of Technology’s Web Design and Development class. Her current class submitted a petition that the award be created and given to Val. CCT also recognized outstanding partners Accretive Health and World Business Chicago.
The following week, the incoming class completed a full-day orientation session, which included a panel of Group 3 soon-to-be- graduates who shared their CCT experience, success stories and offered sage advice to the new participants.
