Training timeframe: Beginning in late May 2012; up to 24 weeks
Certifications to be earned:
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in MS Word,
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in MS Excel, and
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in MS PowerPoint
Examples of jobs that use this type of technology certification: Desktop Support, Administrative Assistant, and Office Manager.

Course description: This program is ideal for someone looking to enhance their technological proficiency or build a solid foundation for learning additional application-related skills. The program prepares students to become proficient in the latest version of Windows Microsoft Office 2010 applications, which include: MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. Additional applications learned include MS Access and Outlook. Earning a Microsoft Office Specialist certification in each of these areas will help students distinguish themselves in today’s competitive job market, broaden employment opportunities by displaying advanced skills, and result in higher earning potential. This program will prepare students for advanced word processing, spreadsheet development, and database maintenance and design using Microsoft Office programs. This program is intended to provide students with the skill set necessary to becoming an asset in any office environment.
