Founded in 2010, Chicago Career Tech is an innovative job-retraining initiative that closes the workforce skills gap by providing businesses with talented, retrained professionals to fill needed positions. Chicago Career Tech provides unemployed emerging- and middle-income Chicago residents with the new skills necessary to obtain and succeed in high demand technology-based careers.
The program prepares participants for in-demand technology-based careers by providing training in an array of in-demand fields, including health information technology, Microsoft certifications, CISCO network management, project management, and Web design and development, among others. Chicago Career Tech is a leading resource for businesses providing access to a variety of recruiting resources and a pool of talented, recently retrained Chicagoans. Funded by the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois and other grants, foundation support, and private sector donations, the program provides participants with skill sets and marketability for new technology positions.
Incorporated in the State of Illinois in March 2011, Chicago Career Tech is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt Not-For-Profit Corporation with its office and operations based in the city of Chicago.
